Don’t be Frightened to Get Organized this Halloween
It’s time for Ghosts and goblins to come knocking, the fun and festivities of Halloween are just around the corner. If you’re not organized, holiday can turn into hassle when it comes time to gather up all things spooky and put them on display, not to mention the drudgery of the post holiday put-away. There are so many terrific decorations for halloween and keeping them organized is a key to being able to enjoy the holiday to its fullest. Here are a few tips to help you enjoy an organized Halloween:
Having a good out of the way storage space. Ideally, shelving is best for storing your Halloween decorations. If your decorations are in disarray and scattered around the house, finding them all is a hassle. When it comes time to put them away, make an extra effort to pack and store them properly.
Create a “Halloween” file and keep it handy for any decorating ideas, recipes, costume ideas etc… As the holiday approaches, you will have an arsenal of all the tips and tricks you’ve collected throughout the year. Some people have the greatest ideas for decorating that are inexpensive and they look wonderfully spooky. If you see something that interests you, take a picture and put it in the file. Have you ever had a plan to cook a great recipe or creatively decorate a festive holiday table only to get to the season and forget what it was? With a file folder of Halloween tips and ideas, this won’t happen—you’ll be organized and efficient.
Start this year by gathering anything that’s related to Halloween, whether its movies and books, home decorations, even baking items and clothing—keep them all together. This will save space in other areas around the house throughout the year. Another good reason to keep items like books and movies stored away with the decorations is that when you bring them out for kids during that season, they’ve forgotten about them, and they are fun and timely to read and watch!
Being organized and having systems in place to re-create the decorations and fun year after year will make Halloween not only more organized, but also more enjoyable.
