How To Organize Your Photos
June is always filled with so many activities and events, and photos are the treasured memories. Here we are at my son Brett’s high school graduation, I’m glad I have systems in place for all the photos I take. What happens to all of your photos once the event has passed? Do you have a good system, or do you have endless digital and print photos lost in chaos? Here are some tips to help keep your memories treasured, organized and accessible.
Organize your prints
Make sure you immediately put the month and year on every paper photo ASAP. This way, if they are pulled out for any reason, you will know where they belong.
If you store your pictures digitally, have at least two forms of back up. Save to DVD, external hard drive, or a cloud backup service. Don’t rely on photo printing/sharing websites to store your pictures.
Share with friends and family
Create digital photo albums
Digital photo albums are a great way of “printing” your pictures and also make wonderful gifts. Uploading and creating an album is easier than you may think.
Don’t wait to frame great pictures
Put them up in your home or office to enjoy. If you capture a great shot, make use of it promptly.
